What free online program to convert MOV to OGG[edit]

I used an online converter and got this compressed stuttering mess: thumb What should I have used? RAN (talk) 20:51, 6 November 2019 (UTC)

@Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ): The best tool to use to convert and upload video is toollabs:video2commons. An important thing to note is that you can't use it to upload over an existing file. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 03:17, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks I will delete the old one. Wow! It did an amazing job. RAN (talk) 05:22, 7 November 2019 (UTC)

✓ Done – Normalized to -2db. Cheers ! --M0tty (talk) 15:09, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

@M0tty: thanks! However, File:LL-Q1860 (eng)-Mélange a trois-confusedly.wav and its derivative File:En-uk-confusedly.oga still seem a bit soft. — SGconlaw (talk) 19:40, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Recompile animated astronomy image[edit]

Request
I'm interested in recompiling this image from an original file (see https://jasonwang.space/orbits.html, specifically https://jasonwang.space/images/movies/hr8799_orbit_hd.gif ... warning, large gif), obviously cropping the border and reducing size to fall below the 100MP threshold for thumbnail animation. You'll notice our file was later edited to remove the credits (which I don't necessarily agree with, but whatever), and the quality was dramatically diminished. I've been unable to find a method to do all of this myself...animated gifs are hard. If someone would be willing to give this a go, and teach me along the way, it would be appreciated. Wanted: Recommendation for (preferably free) video editing software to make 30 fps videos from large set of JPGs or PNGs[edit]

Article(s): Global warming etc.

Request
  • Background: I want to make a ≥4-second video or GIF from a set of JPG or PNG images, with each image having a 1/30th second frame duration (30 fps, with ≥120 frames total, from probably 1600x1200px JPGs/PNGs). (Unfortunately iMovie has a minimum 0.10 second per image (10 fps), which makes the video choppy.)
  • Request: Please recommend a preferably-free but reputable video editing program for Mac desktop MacOS ≥10.11(long story) preferably based on your personal experience. Not looking for bells & whistles. Ideas: List of video editing software. Thanks in advance. --RCraig09 (talk) 04:13, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
