Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Das ging aber schnell, ich wollte dir gerade den Link zum dem Artikel mit Kupferstich melden, der meiner Meinung nach eher Campagnoli darstellt. Ich habe mehrere alte Violinmethoden, in allen ist auf den ersten Seiten ein Geiger abgebildet, um die zeitgemäße Haltung des Geigers zu verdeutlichen. Please note that by policy, Commons categories are plural, so this should be:

Flickr-Dateien

Hallo!

Kürzlichst hast du Bilder von Flickr nach Commons übertragen, die zwar dort unter eine CC-by-NC-Lizenz stehen, aber dennoch gemeinfrei sind, aufgrund der Tatsache, dass sie von einem US-Soldaten aufgenommen wurden (Beispiel). Das ist auch völlig OK und höchst willkomen. Eine wichtige Bitte in diesem Zusammenhang: Könntest du in Zukunft bei derartigen Uploads unter der applizierten PD-Lizenz den folgenden Baustein einfügen: {{Licensereview}}. Dieser Baustein "provoziert" sozusagen die Aufmerksamkeit eines z.B. Administrators, der diese Lizenz anschließend bestätigen kann. Dann ist alles wasserdicht - und sollte das Bild irgendwann von flickr verschwinden, dann kann keiner die Lizenzierung anzweifeln. Ich danke dir im voraus! Category:Villages in Landkreis …

Hallo DALIBRI, was hast Du denn gedacht, was in Deine Villages-Kategorien reinkommen soll? Wenn die Kat. für Dörfer ist, dann solten die Orte, die keine Dörfer sind (Weiler, Einöden) nach meiner Ansicht nicht rein. Falls alle Orte rein sollen, ist der Kategoriename falsch. Man könnte sich, zumindest für Bayern, an der Liste der Orte in den Landkreisen (z. B. Liste der Orte im Landkreis Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen) orientieren. Hallo Gras-Ober, Ziel ist eine Kategorie für "Orte", in der alles aufgenommen werden kann. Die stehen heute ein wenig kreuz und quer in der Landschaft. Die englische Namensgebung (Category:Villages in ...) für die Kategorie ist vielleicht nicht optimal. Ich beziehe mich damit aber auf die Einträge en:Weiler ("Weiler (German for village or hamlet) may refer to ...") und en:Category:Hamlets, die unter anderem en:Category:Villages in Germany und en:Category:Villages in Poland aufführt. Also, bei der Übersetzung von Villages ins Deutsche kann es eigentlich, im Unterschied zu anderen Begriffen, wenig Unklarheit geben. Die Frage ist dann nur, was alles ein Dorf ist. Nach meiner Kenntnis ist das eine geschlossene Ortschaft mit mehr als fünf bis zehn Wohngebäuden. Einzelhöfe sind auf keinen Fall Dörfer, ebenso Städte, welche auch in der Kategorie Villages gelandet sind. Von daher ist der Name mehr als unglücklich gewählt, ebenso wie das Anlegen eines ganzen Kategorieastes für Bayern. Dann ist die Frage, ob die Orte in einer Landkreiskat. untergebracht werden sollen oder in der Gemeinde, zu der sie gehören. Meiner Ansicht nach, sind sie in der Gemeinde besser aufgehoben. Es gibt auch schon eine Reihe Gemeinden, bei denen das so gemacht wurde. Auch gibt es Landkreise, z. B. Fürstenfeldbruck, wo es eine Kat. (Category:Populated places in Landkreis Fürstenfeldbruck) mit den Orten schon gibt, dort ist die Villages-Kat. praktisch ein identisches Doppel. Was die Category:Hamlets angeht, scheint sie zumindest für solche Objekte, wie du sie in den Villages-Kategorien eingeordnet hast, vorgesehen zu sein: a type of territorial subdivision of a municipality wenn ich mal die französische Unterkat nehme. Wobei hier möglicherweise auch nur ein bestimmter Typ von Ortschaft gemeint ist. Auch für Italien passt es wohl. In Polen kenn' ich mich nicht so aus. Den nach meiner Ansicht richtigen Namen (und Kategorienbeschreibung) scheint Spanien zu haben. Ich würde also empfehlen, mich daran zu orientieren. Villages vergrößert die begriffliche Unklarheit beträchtlich und sollte meiner Ansicht nach so nicht bleiben. Eigentlich finde ich, die Orte könnten als eine Unterkat. der Gemeinde stehenbleiben und bräuchten gar nicht aus einer anderen Richtung (Hamlets/Villages/Populated Places/Localities/oder was auch immer of Germany angesteuert werden können, weil es einfach zu unterschiedliche Dinge sind. Sie bräuchten also keine zweite Oberkat. Dann könnte der ganze Ast wieder weg. Aber das wird wahrscheinlich unrealistisch sein. Mehr kann ich dazu nicht sagen. Benennung von Gemeindeteilen

Du würdest mir viel Arbeit ersparen, wenn Du Dich – zumindest bei meinen Bearbeitungen – an die offiziellen Bezeichnungen der Gemeindeteile halten würdest, die in der Liste der Orte des jeweiligen Landkreises nachzulesen sind. Danke. --I. Berger (talk) 20:19, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Wenn ich mich hier kurz einmischen darf: Es ist halt sehr ungünstig, eine Kategorie „Äpfel“ (Dörfer) anzulegen und oben reinzuschreiben, dass da Äpfel und Birnen (Städte, Dörfer, Weiler, Einöden) rein sollen. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es dafür eine allgemeine Akzeptanz geben kann. Deswegen mein Vorschlag: „Villages“ in „Cities and villages“ umbenennen und tatsächlich nur Städte und Dörfer einsortieren. Dann gibt es auch Sinn, diese Kategorie in den Landkreisen einzuhängen. Für die sehr kleinen und alle anderen Orte in den Gemeinden haben wir ja schon eigene Kategorien mit unterschiedlicher Bezeichnung (Districts (was aber wohl nicht mit Ort übersetzt wird, sondern mit Gemarkung bzw. Stadtteil), Localities, eventuell noch andere), die den jeweiligen Gemeindekategorien untergeordnet sind. Grüße, --Gras-Ober (talk) 17:59, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Ich würde das sogar noch enger sehen. Sowohl in der WP als auch hier gilt ja der Grundsatz "Redundanzen vermeiden". Diese Kategorie ist m. E. aber ein gutes Beispiel für das mehrfache Vorhandensein derselben Information auf derselben Ebene. Ich habe das mal an dem Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau nachgeprüft und die nicht unter "Villages" gehörenden Weiler und Einöden herausgenommen. Übrig bleiben dieselben Daten, die sich ebenfalls in der Kategorie Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau befinden und drei Dörfer, die aber als Unterkategorie ihrer Gemeinde bereits dort aufgeführt sind. --I. Hallo DALIBRI, gerade heute bin ich wieder über die falsche Schreibweise der Kapelle gestolpert und hab mir vorgenommen mich gelegentlich wieder mal in die Änderung von Kategorienamen einzulesen. Vielen Dank dass Du Dich darum gekümmert hast. Leider hat sich ein kleiner Fehler eigeschlichen, den ich als ehemaliger Wülfershäuser natürlich gleich bemerkt habe .... Städte als Dörfer kategorisiert

Hallo DALIBRI, du hast eben einige Städte in die Kategorien von Dörfern (Villages) eingeordnet, z. B. de:Rottweil und de:Schramberg. Bist du sicher, dass du weißt was du tust? Der Kategoriebeschreibung in Category:Villages in Baden-Württemberg, die auch Städte als Dörfer sieht, würde ich im übrigen widersprechen, siehe [1]. Columns and pillars

I know that in english "column" and "pillar" are quasi synonyms, but you have to see the difference between the variety of supports in architecture ; in french, for example, there is a distinction between "cologne" and "pilier" (or even "pile" for the bridges. Colonne / Column : support comprising a vertical shaft, polygonal or circular, with a base and a capital Pilier / Pillar: any support, except wall and column. Support: anything that supports a load: the main supports are the column, the pillar and the wall. Die Vorlage Baudenkmal Bayern soll primär die Nutzer über die Denkmalnummer informieren, dass sie zusätzlich die Datei auch unter Cultural heritage monuments in Bavaria with known IDs kategorisiert, ist sekundär und dem Nutzer i.a. egal. Kategorien interessieren normale Nutzer kaum, und für die machen wir das ja alles. Kurz gesagt: Die Information Denkmalnummer geht verloren, wenn man die Vorlage entfernt, diese sollte bei jeder Dateibeschreibung bleiben. Ich setze das demnächst zurück. To bring this section to date, the file was deleted by one of the admins, but when contacted s/he had no objections to its restoration. I feel it was removed in error and have restored it. We have less than one page of pictures of candle racks, this one shows the storage drawer which none of the others do, it's identified precisely to location and the image is big. Hallo NeverDoING, nein. Mir ist so was noch nicht untergekommen. Dazu passt vielleicht ein Zitat von User talk:Ewaldgabardi, das ich mal gefunden habe: ... Koordinierte Anstrengung in Richtung Kategorisierung gibt es hier auf Commons selten und sie werden immer wieder konterkariert. Selbst wenn du eine Beschreibung der Kategorie und der Unterkategorien erstellst, und an geeigneter Stelle zur Diskussion stellst, wirst du keine oder kaum Reaktion bekommen, aber jede Menge Leute, die nicht lesen oder die bessere und widersprüchliche Ideen haben. .... Bei Interesse werde ich aber gerne erläutern, wie ich versuche, die Fitzelchen, um die ich mich ein wenig kümmere, zu ordnen. --DALIBRI (talk) 13:32, 30 December 2017 (UTC)

Nummerierung Kreuzweg Sappenfeld

Hallo DALIBRI, erstmal vielen Dank für deine tollen und zahlreichen (Kirchen)Bilder! Beim Category:Kreuzweg St. Sebastian und Anna (Sappenfeld) scheint dir bei der Nummerierung der Bilder ein Fehler unterlaufen zu sein? Die Kreuzweg-Station 5 fehlt und damit stellt File:Kreuzweg St Sebastian - Sappenfeld 005.jpg Station 6 dar und müsste nach meinem Verständnis "… 006.jpg" sein. Wenn du eine Genehmigung der betreffenden Partei hast, wäre es gut, wenn du sie über OTRS einreichen würdest.

Bild von Kurt Eisner falsch betitelt

Ich habe festgestellt, dass das Bild "Kurt Eisner auf dem Weg zur Rücktrittserklärung" nicht den richtigen Zusammenhang wiedergibt. Laut "Historisches Lexikon Bayern" ist das Bild im Januar 1919 entstanden, was ich für sehr glaubhaft halte. Die Bildbeschreibung habe ich geändert, auch die Beschreibung in der Wikipedia - ich kann aber den Dateinamen und die Source nicht ändern. Könntest Du das übernehmen? Verschieben von Kategorien ohne Diskussion

Hallo DALIBRI, Du hast flugs und ohne Interaktion die ursprünglich von mir angelegte Kategorie Category:Katholische Pfarrkirche Unsere Liebe Frau, Fürth in Category:Unsere Liebe Frau (Fürth) mit der Begründung „Vereinheitlichung“ verschoben. Nun eine Vereinheitlichung wurde damit sicherlich nicht erzielt, dafür gibt es eine viel zu große Vielzahl von Varianten, wie die Kategorien für Kirchen benannt werden. Von spontanen Versuchen einer Vereinheitlichung wäre ohne die Erzielung eines entsprechenden breiten Konsens auch dringend abzuraten. Deswegen wäre es gemäß der Richtline Commons:Rename a category angemessen gewesen, das zuvor zu diskutieren, entweder auf der Diskussionsseite oder auf COM:CFD. Ich werde das jetzt nicht weiter dramatisieren, möchte Dich aber herzlich darum bitten, in Zukunft mit solch spontanen Umtaufaktionen etwas zurückhaltender vorzugehen.
